Dan Thomas – Catechumen
R.C.I.A.
Formal Petition / Declaration of Intent
January 22, 2002
After deep thought, prayers, sharing with family, close friends, RCIA sponsor and team contact I have decided to request full initiation into the Catholic Church.
I feel that I am now prepared to enter into the next stage of my continual learning process about the Catholic Faith and my own spirituality.
Since first “kicking-the-tires” of the RCIA process a few years ago, and finally becoming fully in involved in it early in 2001, it has all felt very comfortable and natural. It feels like I’m being welcomed home to where I belong spiritually.
So many of my very close friends come from the St. Lawrence community and my “involvement level” within the community makes me think back and wonder why I’ve waited until now before seeking full acceptance in The Church.
My personal level of faith and acceptance in God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit have far exceeded my previous desires to have specific scientific evidence and facts to explain the “unexplainable.” Because of this I’ve realized a much greater sense of peace surrounding everything I do.
I am truly enjoying the RCIA process and the many new friends I’ve encountered. The process has helped me personally develop spiritually and intellectually. I’ve become more prayerful and have deepened my understanding and appreciation of the rich history and tradition of the Catholic Church.
I’m my journey I’ve developed a true desire to share in the Eucharist and all that it means.
I look forward to continuing my spiritual journey and sharing God’s gift with others I encounter.
Thank you for your guidance, support and assistance with my journey.
